In this process we'll learn how to add our works (Manually) to the system by following these steps:
- Click on "Innovation outputs & works" in the side menu.
- Click on works from the list that shows.
- The works page will open:
- Add your work by clicking on the "+" button on the right of the title
- the add a work form will pop:
- in the "Add Work" form- "Work info" section:
- select the category of your work from the dropdown list
- select its type from the dropdown list
- enter its title
- Add a translated title for your work's title and select the language of this translation.
- If you want to add a subtitle, then add it.
- You can as well add a translation for this subtitle, and select the language of this translation.
- Fill the fields of the "Add Work" form -"Work Identifiers" section :
- Add the work Identifiers (if any) by clicking on either the "+" on the right, or on "Add identifier" link.
- The add an identifier window will pop:
- Select the "identifier type", which is related to the publishing website that granted it.
- Enter its value in the field specified "Identifier Value".
- Enter its URL in the field specified "Identifier URL".
- Define what relationship does this identifier have with your work, whether it represents:
- Your work itself "Self"
- A part of your work "Part Of"
- A version your work "Version Of"
- Click on "Save".
- In the "Add Work" form -"Citation Info" section:
- select the citation type
- enter the citation you want to add
- Enter a description for it.
- In the "Add Work" form -" Innovation Subject Areas" section:
- Click on "+" on the right of the section title, or on "Add an ISA" link.
- The "Add An ISA" window will pop:
- Select the domain of this ISA from the dropdown list.
- Select its area from the dropdown list.
- Select this ISA from the dropdown list.
- In the "Add Work" form -" Research Country Of Focus" section:
- Add the country/countries that your work focuses on.
- In the "Add Work" form - "Publication Info" section:
- If your work is published, then check the box of "Mark as Published"
After you checked the box, the fields under it should become editable
- Enter the journal name that has published your work, the publication date, the country of publication, and the URL of your work in this journal.
- If your work is published, then check the box of "Mark as Published"
- In the "Add Work" form - " Authorship & Other Contributions" section:
- Select your role in your work.
- If you're the author, then check the "Mark as an author" checkbox
- Add your contribution(s) in this work.
- Add others who have also contributed in your work:
- Click on "+" on the right, or an "add a contributor" link
- The "Add A contributor" window will pop:
Enter the name of the contributor and search JOIP profiles, select what role did this contributor play in this work, and mark him as an author if he is.

If you're searching for contributors for your work, then check the box of " I am currently seeking collaborators in relation to this work"
- Add the works that are related to this work
- Click on "+" on the right or on "Add a work"
- The add a related work window will pop:
- Select a work from the works list which includes works in your list or works of people in your network.
- Select the relationship between this work and yours.
- And finally save the work.
Notes:
Please be noted of the following:
- You can add published and non-published works to JOIP through the add works functionality.
- You can add the works JOIP retrieved from ORCID again to JOIP.
- JOIP fetches only the works with public privacy from ORCID.
- Only works with public privacy will be fetched from your JOIP profile to your account on ORCID.
